New Version is now Available for Download. Here
are some updates:
The new updated version of Soft Notebook has an updated new look and several added
features which enhance its capabilities in response to feedback received. Briefly,
these are some of the changes which have been made:
- New and improved Export command. The old export
worked well, but was very slow. You'll be amazed at how quickly you can now copy a
set of notebook pages to an export file which can be read by other utilities such as word
processors.
- New Print Preview command. There was no Print Preview in
the previous versions of Soft Notebook. The new Print Preview opens a window which
displays text on your notebook page with word wrap set to agree with your currently
selected printer. The nice thing is that the text size is preserved for easy reading
and editing.
- Edit and Save Text, Move Between Pages in Print Preview.
The new Print Preview window allows you to not only view your text as it will appear when
printed, but you can unlock the text for editing in the Print Preview window.
Further, you can move between notebook pages without leaving the Print Preview window.
- Enhanced Search capability. The old Search command
searched for text only in the currently open Tab. The new Search form allows you to
select "Search All Tabs". When selected, all tabs in the notebook
currently opened will be searched, with all the usual options still available. If
you are working in Sub Tabs, then all sub tabs of the current Parent Tab will be searched
when you select "Search All Tabs".
- Improved Tab Index. The new Tab Index is wider, allowing
for longer tab names to be fully displayed. The Tab Layer controls have been moved
to the side of the Tab Index, and enlarged for easier access. The Tab Index has an
updated new look.
- Users with Previously Purchased Copies. If you
previously purchased Soft Notebook and have created new notebooks, then you must download the Upgrade Version of the new release.
This version will preserve your existing notebooks. To avoid difficulties, please do
not download the non-upgrade version and install it. Install the Upgrade
Version in the same original directory (the default is \Program
Files\SoftNote\). The Upgrade Version will be posted shortly, if it
is not already there.
- Your Existing Notebooks will not be Affected when You Install
the Upgrade Version. When you install the new Upgrade
Version of Soft Notebook, simply install it into the same directory as your
previous installation. The new executable files will replace the old executable
files and all of your original notebooks will be preserved and will be accessible from the
new version.
- You May Upgrade Without Charge. Simply download the
new Upgrade Version of Soft Notebook and install in the same directory.
If you have a licensed copy of the old version, the new version will still run for
a 30 day trial period. If you have purchased the old version, simply e-mail us the
serial number for the new release and your valid e-mail address, and an unlock code will
be e-mailed back to you for the new release. For Upgrades, please send the
(personal) name under which you registered your original copy. Be sure to do this
within the 30 day trial period to avoid losing access to Soft Notebook until a new unlock

- What About Multiple Copies? As always, we allow
copies of Soft Notebook to be registered with one fee for a single user working on up to
three individual computers (not servers). To upgrade, or to purchase, simply
download a trial copy onto each individual computer (maximum three), and e-mail us the
serial number from each trial copy. Upon purchase, or upgrade request, we will send
your unlock codes for these three (or less) computers. This allows you to have a
work copy, a home copy, and a laptop copy licensed for a single fee, for example.
- What About Expired Copies? If you previously
downloaded a trial copy of Soft Notebook and have uninstalled it, or it has expired, then
download the new version and install it. The old expired license will not prevent
the new trial version from running.
